Vinicius Mota is Managing Editor at Folha de S.Paulo, Brazilian leading quality newspaper in readership. He is also a weekly columnist for political and economic affairs. Previously at Folha, where he has been working at since 1998, he was Editorialist, International Editor and Opinion Editor. In 2005, a series of reports and interviews by Folha broke the so-called Mensalão (a bribery scheme scandal), which seven years later resulted in the first criminal convictions of members of the political elite on record in the country. Vinicius received an M.A. in Sociology from Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in 1999.
